Our students continued to give! As inspired by last year's Our students continued to give! As inspired by last year's OneSchoolOneBook 's adventures beyond the pages with Liesl Shurtliff 's Jack: The True Story of Jack and the Beanstalk, our students collected money to donate to Children's Hunger Fund all year long! 
We were able to drop off more coin paks  over the summer bringing our total final donations to . . . (drumroll please):



$1035.25 or 4,141 MEALS!
Way to go Newacademy Canoga Dolphins!

Liesl Shurtliff's started her writer's workshop off with a head stand! Her purpose was to prove that it's so much better to SHOW, then to simply tell, when it comes to writing.

Together, with help from the talented Emily Arrow, our 5th graders wrote a song for Liesl Shurtliff's Jack: The True Story of Jack and the Beanstalk for our One School One Book for 2015-2016.
